Hire Someone to File Form 5472 for Your Foreign-Owned LLC

Last reviewed

If you want to hire someone to file Form 5472, the job splits cleanly in two. You hand over the facts about your LLC and its money movements, then review and sign; we prepare the Form 5472 and pro forma 1120, have a qualified accountant check them, fax them to the IRS and keep the receipt for you.

Most owners spend about 15 minutes on their part, with no meeting to book.

Every filing is reviewed by a qualified accountant before it is submitted.

Hire someone to file Form 5472: a folder of records handed over and returned as a checked form

What you hand over when you hire someone to file Form 5472

The questionnaire asks for facts, not forms. Have these ready:

  • The LLC: legal name, EIN, US address, state of formation and the date it was formed
  • You, as owner: name, home address, country of residence and your foreign tax ID if you have one
  • Money between you and the LLC: what you put in, what you took out, any loans, and LLC bills you paid from a personal account
  • What the LLC owned at year end: its total assets on the last day of the tax year

Not sure whether a payment counts? The reportable transactions checker answers that for common cases before you start.

What we do once you hand it over

  1. Build the package. After payment, your answers become a cover letter, the pro forma Form 1120, Form 5472 and a Part V statement.
  2. Check it. A qualified accountant compares the package with your answers and asks on your filing page if anything is unclear.
  3. Send it for signature. Signing opens only after the review is approved.
  4. Fax it. We send the signed package to the IRS Ogden PIN Unit at +1-855-887-7737.
  5. Hand you the proof. The timestamped fax receipt is saved on your filing page.

Timeline and price

  • Your time: about 15 minutes of questions, then a few minutes to review and sign.
  • Standard: $149, package ready in 5-7 business days.
  • Express: $199, package ready within 3 business days.
  • Missed earlier years: +$99 per extra year on either plan, each with its own reasonable-cause statement.

For a calendar-year LLC the filing is due April 15. Full details are on the pricing page.

What you still do yourself

Your part does not disappear entirely:

  • Check your answers. You know the LLC's money movements; we work only from what you tell us.
  • Review the finished package. You see the completed forms before anything is sent.
  • Sign it. The return is the LLC's own, so you or another person authorized for the LLC signs it online. Our staff never sign for you.
  • Keep the record. Save the package and the fax receipt with the LLC's records.

What hiring us does not cover, and what nobody can promise

  • No tax advice. We prepare forms from your information; we do not plan your tax position.
  • No other returns. Form 1065, a full Form 1120 for an LLC taxed as a corporation, Form 1040-NR, state returns, Form 7004 and bookkeeping are outside the service.
  • No promised outcome. The fax receipt proves what was sent and when, not that the IRS has processed it. For late years, nobody can promise the IRS will not assess the $25,000 penalty under IRC §6038A(d).

About 15 minutes of questions. From $149 per filing, with accountant review and IRS fax delivery included.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to talk to anyone before you start?

No. Everything runs through the online questionnaire and your filing page. If the reviewing accountant needs a detail clarified, the question appears on your filing page and you answer it there.

Can I hire someone to file Form 5472 for past years too?

Yes. Each missed year is added to the same order and gets its own package and reasonable-cause statement. The late-filing route checker shows which route fits before you start.

Who signs the return when I hire you?

You, or another person authorized to sign for the LLC. Signing opens in your browser after the accountant review. A wet-ink option is available if you prefer to print and sign by hand.

How is this different from filing it myself?

The IRS forms are free and you can file them yourself. Hiring us adds preparation from plain-language questions, an accountant review before you sign, the IRS fax and a stored receipt.
